Wackerbarth Castle
A Fizzy Pleasure

A fairy-tale castle and park is nestled in the Radebeul vineyards in the Saxon Elbeland: Wackerbarth Castle and the »Belvedere« summerhouse. It was built in the 18th century – at the height of Dresden’s Baroque period – at the behest of Count August Christoph von Wackerbarth. Since he was one of Augustus the Strong’s closest confidants, Wackerbarth Castle was the venue for many lavish parties hosted by the Saxon ruling families.Wackerbarth Castle is home to Europe’s first ever adventure winery, presenting the 850-year tradition of wine growing in Saxony. Germany’s second oldest sparkling wine factory employs the traditional bottle fermentation method, allowing the grapes to unlock their tingling delights. There’s also a variety of events to be enjoyed. During the » Wine Summer at Wackerbarth Castle«, for example, visitors can enjoy the baroque flair with culinary delicacies and fine wines.
