At he beginning of the 18th century, one of Saxony`s aristocratic residences most rich in tradition was built on a site previously occupied by a medieval manor - Proschwitz Castle.
In 1914, the castle was redesigned in baroque style for the Zur Lippe family. After the family's expropriation in 1945, Dr Georg Prince zur Lippe purchased the winery and the castle again in the 1990ies. Since then, the prince's family has been living here operating a frequently awarded winery popular with wine enthusiasts. Proschwitz Castle and its surrounding castle grounds provide a stylish ambience for concerts as well as private and business events.
The redeveloped winery of Proschwitz Castle is situated close th the family estate. In the landmarked four-sided farmyard the restaurant »Lippe'sches Gutshaus« welcomes its guests to enjoy classy and stylish winetastings. (advance booking required) Directly on the premises of the winery, a guest house gives you the opportunity to fully enjoy the charming rustic atmosphere of the vineyard landscape overnight.
