Klaffenbach Castle
Love at First Sight

Located south of Chemnitz, a Renaissance pearl seems to float weightlessly over the Wuerschnitz River: Klaffenbach Castle never fails to enchant visitors with its uniquely curved roof in the shape of an ogee arch. Couples can get married in the fairy-tale setting of the wedding hall – guarded by the ghost of the Maiden of Taube. Legend has it she rejected a marriage proposal from the ugly Lord of Rabenstein, whereupon her angry father had her walled up alive in the castle tower. The other restored rooms are used to exhibit regional and international handicrafts. Some of the other features that attract visitors to this picturesque location in Central Saxony include a hospitable hotel, many creative studios, a golf course and a riding school.

The top floor was only used as a store in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today the "Bürgersaal" is located here, which is ideal for meetings, seminars, presentations, receptions and celebrations with around 160 seats. The visible wooden beam construction in the roof structure creates a fascinating spatial impression.

Salon Landvogt

The “Salon Landvogt” is ideal for exhibitions or receptions. But you will also find a unique environment here for conferences or training courses.

Grüner Salon

The "Grüner Salon" offers a special ambience with partially preserved or reconstructed classical wall paintings. It is often used for seminars, conferences or festive banquets.

Kleine Kapelle

The little chapel with cross-vaulted ceilings and ceiling paintings from 1860 offers a fairy-tale atmosphere for weddings, but is also suitable for reception, lectures or concerts on a small scale.

Schlosshof

The castle courtyard lends itself to open-air events - be it opera performances, rock concerts or product presentations, celebrations, but also markets and trade fairs - incomparable historical charm.
