Hotel Schloss Schweinsburg
Stillness in style
”Everything here breathes historical aesthetic and produces an entire effect which has yet to find its match in historical perfection,“ wrote a certain Dr. Alfred Lindner enthusiastically in his ”Chronicle of Schweinsburg Palace.
The 800-year-old moated castle in Neukirchen, West Saxony, still has many enthusiastic visitors who today find a modern hotel which is a favourite for holding meetings as well as for tourist wishes on the grounds of the old military stronghold.
Where once the Count von Crimmitschau and later the Countess of Schoenburg lazed in front of the fire, you can today enjoy a comprehensive sport and leisure programme or celebrate weddings and other family occasions in an aristocratic atmosphere. Maybe you can simply relax with a walk through the Baroque garden, or try one of the many keep-fit facilities at the hotel.
Visitors who come on a day-trip to this region, which until recently was known as an industrial region of West Saxony, can book, in the hotel, a journey of a special kind. Starting from Schweinsburg, you can ride in an original Trabant through the surrounding area which includes the car-making town of Zwickau, where until 1990 the legendary East German ”racing cardboard box“ was produced.
