300 years of the legend of the Meissen manufactory: Albrechtsburg castle as a porcelain palace. In its anniversary year 2010, Albrechtsburg castle gleams once again in the splendor of »white gold«. At the historical location, unique testimonials tell stories of the efforts and artistic achievements of the now »invisible manufactory «. Selected works of early Meissen porcelain return to where they were created.

The second part of the new permanent exhibition opens in one of the oldest castles in Saxony. It provides information on the castle as residence and seat of power of the Wettins. A Baroque kitchen, the office and the knights‘ halls allow for a view into everyday life inside the mighty castle walls.

The special exhibition for the 550th anniversary of the establishment of the frontier between Saxony and Bohemia in 2009, which is one of the oldest and most stable frontiers in Europe. The cross-border project with the Decin castle (Czech Republic) shows linking and separating aspects, as well as the mutual inspiration of culture and society.
