More than 2,000 years ago, the Greeks were searching for the sense of life, but they also knew how to enjoy life. It was not for nothing that they created a God just for wine and joy. Also, the Greek philosopher Plutarch devoted himself to the godly drink as he declared the juice from the grapes to be the most useful among any drink, the tastiest among any medication and the most pleasant among any food.
At the 2018 Midsummernight’s Ball, the Saxon state theater Landesbuehnen Sachsen, the Saxon Elbland Philharmonic Orchestra and Wackerbarth Castle have the musical and culinary magic of Greece come alive again for one evening long. Wackerbarth’s chief chef will prove by a multi-course meal that Greece’s Mediterranean cuisine has a wider multitude of treats to offer than just gyro, feta cheese or tzatziki. And, for sure, the world-famous sirtaki will resound in the Radebeul vinyards then.
